He transferred to Shepherd Engineering, Inc. to work with his father. John has worked on many different types of projects and is responsible for all aspects of running the business. John is responsible to cultivate work, maintain existing clients, design and consult, write narratives and reports, write specifications, review drawings and submittals, visit the construction site and perform all construction administration duties required.

Mary Beth Fritz, vice president, has been with Shepherd Engineering, Inc. for over twenty-three years. Mary Beth has a degree in marketing/business administration. Once out of college, she decided to get into the electrical field. Mary Beth worked with an electrical contracting firm while attending electrical engineering courses at Northeastern University. Vito Colonna is an engineer with an electrical contracting background. Vito started out with Shepherd Engineering, Inc. in 1968; after 13-years, Vito became a master electrician (MA License #12953A) and started his own Electrical Contracting (union) firm. Vito has since retired, although his firm, LidCo Electric Company, is still very much a presence in the Worcester County area. He decided to come back to Shepherd Engineering, Inc. as a part-time employee. His contribution to the firm, in the short time that he has been here, has been tremendous. Vito visits all projects in construction; he reviews submittals; we have purchased him an estimating program so that he is able to budget estimate projects and review potential construction change orders. Because of Vito’s contracting background, he has the working knowledge to project installations and the coordination required of the Electrical Contractor. Vito works closely with the Contractor in the field and reports the electrical progress, or deficiencies, as they occur.
